How we began...

Awareness For Autism was set up in July 2013 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire with the vision and aim of raising important awareness for autism within our local area. Co-Founded by John and Lauri Daly, we also have the day to day support from Leeanne Gamble and Sally Birkin - with all of us having very different but valuable life experiences with autism. Our aim is to help others in any which way we can, whether it be advice, a shoulder to cry on, as well as important fundraising events which we hope will also educate others and help them to understand about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With fund-raising now in full swing, we aim to put funds in to our local schools to help them with sensory equipment and educational equipment so that children with autism can get the appropriate education that they deserve and require in order to give them the best start possible with their early years education. With this in mind, we will be planning and staging a series of events, some fundraising and some such as 'Autism Friendly' days out, which we genuinely hope will involve as many locals as possible and be a lot of fun along the way.

More recently, we found ourselves in a very fortunate postion when approached by Bristol Street Motors: Peugeot Ilkeston. The dealership were very keen to sponsor/support us for the forseeable and even have vehicles  bearing our logo and details. The partnership we have is going form strength to strength and working out very well for both parties. As such, we thank all the guys there for their fantastic support.
